January 2019 General Meeting
Jan 20, 2019

General Boise DSA Chapter Updates:

  • This group has been meeting for a year now- woo hoo!
  • We almost have the “official stamp of existence” from the National DSA group, all that is needed is 3 more card-holding, due-paying members of the DSA to sign the bylaws.
  • The Privilege Unpacking Event went really well. It was facilitated by a man named Bryan who presented thought provoking questions, and facilitated group discussion to understand how your life experience influences your worldview.

There are currently 3 working groups established within this local Boise chapter which are all searching for some helpful comrades. Ask yourself if you are interested in collaborating with any of the groups below:

What IS Democratic Socialism, you ask?

*technically, the exact idealogical definition is still up in the air*

but there are some things we all agree on, which are:

1. capitalism sux (profit is theft, y’all)

2. people shouldn’t be treated awfully.

Also, the DSA is not a political party. it’s not a “side” to take. it’s a group that brings together people from many idealogical backgrounds to identify mutual problems, and solve them for the greater good.
